Factual information, education about risks, and effective prevention for young people

Why prevention for young people matters most

In Switzerland, the average age of first cannabis use is around 15. Use is comparatively high among young people in particular: in a representative survey in 2022, around 18% of 15-year-olds reported having used cannabis at least once. Around 10% reported use in the past 30 days and are therefore considered regular users.

Cannabis use carries various risks for body and mind. In young people, many of these risks are heightened because the brain, as well as physical and social developmental processes, are still maturing. The risk of long-term harm from regular or risky use is therefore particularly high in the early years. At the same time, specialists often observe intensive use precisely at this stage of life — driven by curiosity, peer pressure, stress or the desire for relaxation.

Our offering

We offer a modular prevention programme tailored to different age groups and needs. It includes workshops for pupils, practice-oriented further training for teachers, and information evenings for parents.

All modules are based on current research and deliberately avoid moralising or pure scare tactics. Instead, we share risk-relevant knowledge, promote self-reflection, and strengthen the agency of young people and adults. Our specialists have many years of experience in addiction work, prevention, youth work and school settings, and bring this expertise directly into practice.

This approach creates factual, contemporary and effective prevention work that takes young people seriously, supports parents and helps schools fulfil their responsibility. In this way, we make an active contribution to sustainable youth protection within a responsible approach to cannabis regulation.
